Upon arrival in Gir National Park, check in to your lodge and enjoy lunch. After a brief rest, prepare for your first-afternoon safari in Gir. Set out in an open jeep with a skilled naturalist guide who will lead you through the park’s diverse terrain, increasing your chances of spotting Asiatic lions in their natural habitat. As you navigate the rugged landscape, keep an eye out for other wildlife, such as leopards, sambar deer, and a variety of birds.
Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and a relaxing night surrounded by nature.
Over the next two days, immerse yourself in the rich landscapes of Gir National Park with morning and evening safaris, offering the best opportunities to spot the elusive Asiatic lion. Gir is the only place on Earth where these lions roam freely, and your expert guide will lead you through zones known for frequent sightings of these majestic animals.
Each morning, set out early when the park is calm and wildlife is active. As you navigate Gir’s rugged terrain, your guide will help you spot lions patrolling their territory or basking in the coolness of dawn. Alongside lions, you may encounter leopards, chital (spotted deer), and nilgai (blue bull) grazing in open clearings, along with vibrant birdlife such as peafowl, partridges, and eagles soaring above.
Return to the lodge for breakfast and some downtime, enjoying lunch and resting before the afternoon safari. The evening safaris offer a different experience as the light softens and animals become more active again. You may visit the Kamleshwar Dam, a water source that attracts marsh crocodiles and a variety of birds, adding to the diversity of wildlife sightings.
These back-to-back safaris allow you to deeply connect with Gir’s unique ecosystem, observe wildlife behaviours, and gain insight into the park’s conservation efforts.
Return to the lodge each night for dinner and relaxation, sharing your experiences with fellow travellers.
On your final morning in Gir National Park, set out for one last early morning safari, savouring the last moments in the land of the Asiatic lion. With the peaceful dawn atmosphere and a bit of luck, you may encounter more of Gir’s remarkable residents—perhaps a pride of lions, leopards on the move, or the graceful nilgai.
After returning to the lodge for breakfast, it’s time to pack up and check out. Following a memorable stay filled with wildlife encounters and scenic landscapes, you’ll be transferred for your onward journey, carrying with you unforgettable memories of India’s last sanctuary for the Asiatic lion

Trip was immaculately organised by Tigerwalah team. Tigerwalah has been helping us with our safari trips every year since last 10 years and we do about 3-4 trips a year and 20-25 safaris a year. Tigerwalah helps us with every trip that we do. And the team is amazing. They organise safaris in the right zone with the right guide/drivers & naturalists. Choose great hotels. I will always suggest to contact Tigerwalah if you are planning any trips to any National Park Jenny H2024-11-06Verified 🐅 10 different tigers!! 🐅 We are just finishing a month long trip in India which included safaris in Ranthambore and Bandhavgarh both arranged by Anurag at Tigerwalah. I selected TigerWalah after reading the reviews and really, right from the word go, the service has been excellent. Great attention to detail, all my questions answered quickly - Anurag has been amazing. He even came to the rescue when we had some flights cancelled. In terms of safaris - he organised the best zones for us and the best guides and drivers. The guides were very knowledgeable with a lot of experience which really showed in the parks. We had amazing tiger sightings in both Ranthambore and Bandhavgarh. In all we saw 10 different tigers, including mum with cubs, sloth bear, elephant ,jackal and loads of other animals and birds. Excellent from start to finish. Definitely the company to use! Liz W.2024-10-25Verified A super safari trip! We saw 12 species of mammals including a tiger and her two cubs at Tadoba National Park! And many interesting birds. It was great to see the tiger forest habitat, and so many Spotted deer in Kanha National Park. The Chitvan resort was exceptional! And the Nagzira and Tadoba ones were very good. Everywhere we had great food, and the gypsies were on time everywhere. Thank you Tigerwalah for organizing a great trip for us! Liz from Canada, October 2024. Gary Wales2024-06-23Verified Another Amazing Tigerwalah Experience! Since living in India 10 years ago, we have travelled extensively through India's forests and wildlife experiences and there just isn't a better option than booking with Tigerwalah. We did 6 days/12 Safaris. 21 Tiger sightings, 17 individual cats including all the dominant males in the tourism area, which is really unusual.Until next time! Rohit Garg2024-06-21Verified Saw 6 tigers in 2 safaris It was an amazing experience going tiger sighting with the Tigerwalah. The stay at their lodge reminded me of my chidlhood when fresh air and closeness to nature was something that was easy to find. It was a very calm and soothing experience at the lodge. The food was amazing and had authentic Rajasthani flavour. All the vegetables and meat was freshly sourced and (they don't have deep freezer). Since we went in peak summer, there was always a high chance that we would be able to see tigers. But I did not expect to see so many. We did two safaris, one in zone 3 and another in zone 2 and were able to see 6 tigers/tigresses in all. Overall, it was an amazing experience and would highly recommend Tigerwalah to anyone wanting to go for a Safari expedition to Ranthambore. KEITH T2024-05-23Verified Bandhavgarh tiger safari My 4 day, 8 trip tiger safari of Bandhavgarh was excellent, from the pickup at the airport everything was very professional, the accommodation, food, driver/guide was all to be commended, the only thingI had to worry about, was getting that perfect shot. I enjoyed the most incredible experience of Indias Wildlife under the guidance of Anurag of Tigerwalah.Anurag shared his extensive knowledge and experience of Indias Wildlife and somehow ensured we had the most amazing encounters, I almost lost count of our tiger sightings, close encounters and the thrill of seeing a Sloth Bear.Anurag managed several dietary requirements and a busy safari and travel schedule superbly, he is a friendly, passionate person who wants to share his country and its extensive wildlife, a bonus is he also enjoys a laugh and assists with great photo hints. All accomodation was superb, along with meals and meeting wonderful people.Would I do it again 100% with Anurag and Tigerwalah. Highly recommend. Ansh Narang2024-04-24Verified Ranthambore - March 2024 As always, Tigerwalah continues to show us the true beauty of not only the tigers in India, but also that of the jungles that are home to the most diverse and amazing creatures I have ever seen. His vast knowledge, experience and personal love for the jungle is something that he shares with us to make our experiences worth remembering. There is no one else whom I would recommend going to the jungles with! Nancy N2024-04-17Verified Excellent arrangements - highly recommended Tigerwalah - only good things!Prior to my small group tour, I arranged an 8 day bespoke tour of Rajasthan through Tigerwalah. Anurag and Shivani offered suggestions - great accommodation options and various touring plans. All arrangements were reserved and executed flawlessly. Shivani communicated car/driver information in a timely manner each time and both checked in that the holiday was unfolding as anticipated.Thereafter, I spent three weeks on a wildlife photo safari (6 people) with quality arrangements by Tigerwalah. The journey unfolded as anticipated - transportation, accommodation, food, permits and game drives executed flawlessly. Anurag's wildlife knowledge and passion for tigers particularly, was invaluable in positioning us for the best possible experiences. The accommodations chosen ranged from luxurious in most locations to modest in remote parks - all were clean - very clean - and comfortable with appropriate bedding, washrooms, hot showers, amenities, filtered water, restaurant and wifi - some with lovely pools. The staff were always friendly and eager to assist with any requests. We ate mostly Indian food which was invariably tasty and not spicy unless requested. We had dietary requirements for gluten free, dairy free and vegan meals. - Anurag ensured our needs were met and there was always quality and quantity of tasty food for each of us. No illness here.Special requests? Tigerwalah treats them as challenges to overcome. Anurag arranged replacement prescription glasses for me within 3 days while we were in a very remote location. It was a fast paced trip covering a large part of the country - arrangements were flawless. We experienced many social, cultural and wildlife activities with everything organized and arranged for you! It was one of my favourite travel holidays. I highly recommend Tigerwalah for conducting your Indian safari! You won't regret it! Will M2024-04-16Verified Absolutely sensational wildlife experience! My wife and I had the great fortune to spend three weeks with Tigerwalah! We visited 5 national parks and tiger reserves across India. During that time we saw 17 individual tigers!! Our interest was photographing some of India's stunning wildlife. This included Indian rhino, gaur, leopard, tiger, Asiatic wild dogs, elephants, hornbills, porcupines and sloth bears to name a few!! We were part of a small group (total 6 pax, who all got on well together!) and can't speak highly enough about the quality of our experience! Anurag has a great depth of knowledge about the wildlife and predictions of their behaviour. This was a great help in getting us to ideal positions for photography! The arrangements for transportation, accommodation and permits were seamlessly achieved. Accommodation was unique and high quality, though often in remote locations. Clean and comfortable and providing the comforts of home. The food offered was a wide range of local dishes.
