Your day would typically start with an early morning safari, breakfast inside the park, get out before noon, freshen up and relax in the daytime, have lunch, head out to the evening safari, return back from safari post-sunset, then have the evening at leisure.
Ranthambore National Park, located in Rajasthan, has a rich and storied history. Once the private hunting grounds of the Maharajas of Jaipur, the park was known for its dense wildlife and royal tiger hunts during the 19th and early 20th centuries. The decline in the tiger population led to increased conservation efforts, and in 1955, Ranthambore was declared a wildlife sanctuary.
In 1973, Ranthambore became part of Project Tiger, a national initiative to protect India’s dwindling tiger population. The park was officially declared a national park in 1980, and its boundaries were extended with the inclusion of the Sawai Mansingh Sanctuary and Keladevi Sanctuary.
Today, Ranthambore is one of India’s most celebrated tiger reserves, known not only for its thriving tiger population but also for its impressive Ranthambore Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that sits within the park, blending history and wildlife in one unique destination

The initiative was led by Mary Curzon, wife of the then Viceroy of India, Lord Curzon after they found that rhino numbers had dramatically declined. Kaziranga was later designated as a national park in 1974 and became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985 for its exceptional biodiversity and conservation success.
Kaziranga is renowned for its rich biodiversity, home to the world’s largest population of one-horned rhinoceros, along with tigers, elephants, wild water buffalo, and swamp deer. It also harbours a diverse range of bird species, making it a paradise for birdwatchers. The park’s wetlands, tall grasslands, and tropical moist forests provide ideal habitats for these species. I selected TigerWalah after reading the reviews and really, right from the word go, the service has been excellent. Great attention to detail, all my questions answered quickly - Anurag has been amazing. He even came to the rescue when we had some flights cancelled. In terms of safaris - he organised the best zones for us and the best guides and drivers. The guides were very knowledgeable with a lot of experience which really showed in the parks. We had amazing tiger sightings in both Ranthambore and Bandhavgarh. In all we saw 10 different tigers, including mum with cubs, sloth bear, elephant ,jackal and loads of other animals and birds. Excellent from start to finish. Definitely the company to use!VerifiedLiz W.2024-10-25A super safari trip! We saw 12 species of mammals including a tiger and her two cubs at Tadoba National Park! And many interesting birds. It was great to see the tiger forest habitat, and so many Spotted deer in Kanha National Park. The Chitvan resort was exceptional! And the Nagzira and Tadoba ones were very good. Liz from Canada, October 2024.VerifiedGary Wales2024-06-23Another Amazing Tigerwalah Experience! Since living in India 10 years ago, we have travelled extensively through India's forests and wildlife experiences and there just isn't a better option than booking with Tigerwalah. We did 6 days/12 Safaris. 21 Tiger sightings, 17 individual cats including all the dominant males in the tourism area, which is really unusual.Until next time!VerifiedRohit Garg2024-06-21Saw 6 tigers in 2 safaris It was an amazing experience going tiger sighting with the Tigerwalah. The stay at their lodge reminded me of my chidlhood when fresh air and closeness to nature was something that was easy to find. It was a very calm and soothing experience at the lodge. The food was amazing and had authentic Rajasthani flavour. All the vegetables and meat was freshly sourced and (they don't have deep freezer). Since we went in peak summer, there was always a high chance that we would be able to see tigers. But I did not expect to see so many. We did two safaris, one in zone 3 and another in zone 2 and were able to see 6 tigers/tigresses in all. Overall, it was an amazing experience and would highly recommend Tigerwalah to anyone wanting to go for a Safari expedition to Ranthambore.VerifiedKEITH T2024-05-23Bandhavgarh tiger safari My 4 day, 8 trip tiger safari of Bandhavgarh was excellent, from the pickup at the airport everything was very professional, the accommodation, food, driver/guide was all to be commended, the only thingI had to worry about, was getting that perfect shot.VerifiedMaxine S2024-04-26Amazing experience with Tigerwalah. Anurag and Shivani offered suggestions - great accommodation options and various touring plans. All arrangements were reserved and executed flawlessly. Shivani communicated car/driver information in a timely manner each time and both checked in that the holiday was unfolding as anticipated.Thereafter, I spent three weeks on a wildlife photo safari (6 people) with quality arrangements by Tigerwalah. The journey unfolded as anticipated - transportation, accommodation, food, permits and game drives executed flawlessly. Anurag's wildlife knowledge and passion for tigers particularly, was invaluable in positioning us for the best possible experiences. The accommodations chosen ranged from luxurious in most locations to modest in remote parks - all were clean - very clean - and comfortable with appropriate bedding, washrooms, hot showers, amenities, filtered water, restaurant and wifi - some with lovely pools. The staff were always friendly and eager to assist with any requests. We ate mostly Indian food which was invariably tasty and not spicy unless requested. We had dietary requirements for gluten free, dairy free and vegan meals. - Anurag ensured our needs were met and there was always quality and quantity of tasty food for each of us. No illness here.Special requests? Tigerwalah treats them as challenges to overcome. Anurag arranged replacement prescription glasses for me within 3 days while we were in a very remote location. It was a fast paced trip covering a large part of the country - arrangements were flawless. We experienced many social, cultural and wildlife activities with everything organized and arranged for you! It was one of my favourite travel holidays. I highly recommend Tigerwalah for conducting your Indian safari! You won't regret it!VerifiedWill M2024-04-16Absolutely sensational wildlife experience! Our interest was photographing some of India's stunning wildlife. This included Indian rhino, gaur, leopard, tiger, Asiatic wild dogs, elephants, hornbills, porcupines and sloth bears to name a few!! We were part of a small group (total 6 pax, who all got on well together!) and can't speak highly enough about the quality of our experience! Anurag has a great depth of knowledge about the wildlife and predictions of their behaviour. This was a great help in getting us to ideal positions for photography! The arrangements for transportation, accommodation and permits were seamlessly achieved.
