Upon your arrival at Delhi airport, you will be met by one of our tour IWS Guides. He will take you to your hotel, and en route, he will explain to you in detail the plan.
The rest of the day will be at leisure, and you can recover from your journey and prepare for the travels ahead!
Overnight stay in Delhi.
Your IWS guide will meet you early in the morning to kick off your adventure. Delhi, with its rich heritage, boasts three UNESCO World Heritage Sites and a wealth of monuments with historical and religious significance. Guided by your IWS expert, you’ll explore as much as possible within the limited time, immersing yourself in the city’s captivating history.
As you wander through the capital’s streets, you’ll also indulge in some of the finest cuisine in the world, discovering flavors and aromas you never knew existed.
After a fulfilling half-day exploring Delhi’s cultural treasures, you’ll depart in the late afternoon for Chandigarh, a vibrant city about 280 km (or 5 hours) away. You’ll arrive by 8 PM, check in to your hotel, enjoy a relaxing dinner, and unwind after an action-packed day of exploration and adventure.
Overnight stay at Chandigarh
After a restful night in the vibrant city of Chandigarh, you’ll set off early, ideally by 7.30 AM. Within an hour, you’ll leave the northern plains behind as you begin your ascent into the majestic Himalayan foothills. The scenic drive promises spectacular views and a change in landscape as the mountains unfold before you.
Along the way, you’ll make thoughtfully planned pitstops to stretch out and enjoy some delicious hill cuisine, carefully selected by your IWS guide. You’ll be introduced to local delicacies in safe, hygienic settings, adding a flavorful touch to your journey.
By late afternoon, you’ll reach the charming hamlet of Rampur, located at an elevation of 3,350 feet (1,020 meters). After exploring the quiet village, you’ll settle into your pre-booked resort, enjoying a peaceful night’s sleep and replenishing your energy for the days ahead in the mountains.
Overnight stay at Rampur Bushahr
You’ll begin your day early with a long but rewarding 12-hour drive to Kaza. As you journey through the changing landscapes, you’ll witness a dramatic transformation—from the lush green Himalayan forests to the stark, barren beauty of the cold desert. The urge to stop and capture the stunning scenery at every turn will be hard to resist, but it’s essential to make it to Kaza before nightfall. Rest assured, your IWS guide will ensure you stop at the most picturesque spots for breathtaking landscape photography.
Kaza, the district headquarters of Spiti, is a lively hub during the summer months, complete with a market, ATMs, petrol stations, cafes, shops, and bike rentals. However, in winter, much of the town shuts down. After arriving in Kaza, you’ll be close to your final destination, and following a long and scenic drive through the mountains, you’ll enjoy a well-deserved rest.
Overnight at homestay in Kaza.
After a leisurely morning in Kaza, you’ll begin your day with a visit to the nearby Sakya Tangyud Monastery, followed by a stroll through the local market. From there, you’ll depart for Kibber, making a stop at the iconic Ki Monastery along the way. As the largest monastery in Spiti Valley, Ki Monastery has been a centre for religious training for Lamas since the 11th century. Spend some tranquil moments here, absorbing the serenity of the surroundings.
Continuing up the road, you’ll arrive at Kibber village, where you’ll be shown your accommodations and introduced to the team that will accompany you throughout the expedition—both in the field and at the homestay. This homestay will be your base for the Snow Leopard Expedition.
On this day, you’ll be encouraged to rest and acclimatize, as the coming days will involve challenging treks through snow at high altitudes.
For the next five days, you’ll embark on a thrilling quest to track down one of the most elusive creatures on the planet—the mythical Snow Leopard. Each day, you’ll venture into the snow-covered landscapes, guided by an expert team of trackers and porters who will accompany you on this challenging yet rewarding journey
Our trackers will not only help you search for signs of the Snow Leopard, but they will also teach you the field craft of tracking, showing you how to identify paw prints, subtle signs of movement, and recent kills. You’ll gain invaluable insights into their methods, learning to read the landscape and the clues it offers, all while aiming to capture this magnificent cat through your camera lens.
All meals and overnight stay at Kibber.
Today, you’ll say goodbye to the tracking team and the picturesque hamlet of Kibber as you begin your descent back to Rampur. Setting off early in the morning, you’ll retrace the familiar route through the stunning Himalayan landscapes. After a full day’s journey, you’ll arrive in Rampur by nightfall. Once you’ve checked into your hotel, you’ll have the rest of the evening to relax, catch up on sleep, and rejuvenate after your incredible adventure.
Overnight stay at Rampur
Today you will move out of the Himalayan hills into the plains and return to Chandigarh. By late afternoon, you will be in Chandigarh

Trip was immaculately organised by Tigerwalah team. Tigerwalah has been helping us with our safari trips every year since last 10 years and we do about 3-4 trips a year and 20-25 safaris a year. Tigerwalah helps us with every trip that we do. And the team is amazing. They organise safaris in the right zone with the right guide/drivers & naturalists. Choose great hotels. I will always suggest to contact Tigerwalah if you are planning any trips to any National ParkVerifiedJenny H2024-11-06🐅 10 different tigers!! 🐅 We are just finishing a month long trip in India which included safaris in Ranthambore and Bandhavgarh both arranged by Anurag at Tigerwalah. I selected TigerWalah after reading the reviews and really, right from the word go, the service has been excellent. Great attention to detail, all my questions answered quickly - Anurag has been amazing. He even came to the rescue when we had some flights cancelled. In terms of safaris - he organised the best zones for us and the best guides and drivers. The guides were very knowledgeable with a lot of experience which really showed in the parks. We had amazing tiger sightings in both Ranthambore and Bandhavgarh. In all we saw 10 different tigers, including mum with cubs, sloth bear, elephant ,jackal and loads of other animals and birds. Excellent from start to finish. Definitely the company to use!VerifiedLiz W.2024-10-25A super safari trip! We saw 12 species of mammals including a tiger and her two cubs at Tadoba National Park! And many interesting birds. It was great to see the tiger forest habitat, and so many Spotted deer in Kanha National Park. The Chitvan resort was exceptional! And the Nagzira and Tadoba ones were very good. Everywhere we had great food, and the gypsies were on time everywhere. Thank you Tigerwalah for organizing a great trip for us! Liz from Canada, October 2024.VerifiedGary Wales2024-06-23Another Amazing Tigerwalah Experience! Since living in India 10 years ago, we have travelled extensively through India's forests and wildlife experiences and there just isn't a better option than booking with Tigerwalah. We did 6 days/12 Safaris. 21 Tiger sightings, 17 individual cats including all the dominant males in the tourism area, which is really unusual.Until next time!VerifiedRohit Garg2024-06-21Saw 6 tigers in 2 safaris It was an amazing experience going tiger sighting with the Tigerwalah. The stay at their lodge reminded me of my chidlhood when fresh air and closeness to nature was something that was easy to find. It was a very calm and soothing experience at the lodge. The food was amazing and had authentic Rajasthani flavour. All the vegetables and meat was freshly sourced and (they don't have deep freezer). Since we went in peak summer, there was always a high chance that we would be able to see tigers. But I did not expect to see so many. We did two safaris, one in zone 3 and another in zone 2 and were able to see 6 tigers/tigresses in all. Overall, it was an amazing experience and would highly recommend Tigerwalah to anyone wanting to go for a Safari expedition to Ranthambore.VerifiedKEITH T2024-05-23Bandhavgarh tiger safari My 4 day, 8 trip tiger safari of Bandhavgarh was excellent, from the pickup at the airport everything was very professional, the accommodation, food, driver/guide was all to be commended, the only thingI had to worry about, was getting that perfect shot.VerifiedMaxine S2024-04-26Amazing experience with Tigerwalah. Anurag and Shivani offered suggestions - great accommodation options and various touring plans. All arrangements were reserved and executed flawlessly. Shivani communicated car/driver information in a timely manner each time and both checked in that the holiday was unfolding as anticipated.Thereafter, I spent three weeks on a wildlife photo safari (6 people) with quality arrangements by Tigerwalah. The journey unfolded as anticipated - transportation, accommodation, food, permits and game drives executed flawlessly. Anurag's wildlife knowledge and passion for tigers particularly, was invaluable in positioning us for the best possible experiences. The accommodations chosen ranged from luxurious in most locations to modest in remote parks - all were clean - very clean - and comfortable with appropriate bedding, washrooms, hot showers, amenities, filtered water, restaurant and wifi - some with lovely pools. The staff were always friendly and eager to assist with any requests. We ate mostly Indian food which was invariably tasty and not spicy unless requested. We had dietary requirements for gluten free, dairy free and vegan meals. - Anurag ensured our needs were met and there was always quality and quantity of tasty food for each of us. No illness here.Special requests? Tigerwalah treats them as challenges to overcome. Anurag arranged replacement prescription glasses for me within 3 days while we were in a very remote location. It was a fast paced trip covering a large part of the country - arrangements were flawless. We experienced many social, cultural and wildlife activities with everything organized and arranged for you! It was one of my favourite travel holidays. I highly recommend Tigerwalah for conducting your Indian safari! You won't regret it!VerifiedWill M2024-04-16Absolutely sensational wildlife experience! My wife and I had the great fortune to spend three weeks with Tigerwalah! We visited 5 national parks and tiger reserves across India. During that time we saw 17 individual tigers!! Our interest was photographing some of India's stunning wildlife. This included Indian rhino, gaur, leopard, tiger, Asiatic wild dogs, elephants, hornbills, porcupines and sloth bears to name a few!! We were part of a small group (total 6 pax, who all got on well together!) and can't speak highly enough about the quality of our experience! Anurag has a great depth of knowledge about the wildlife and predictions of their behaviour. This was a great help in getting us to ideal positions for photography! The arrangements for transportation, accommodation and permits were seamlessly achieved.
